Clarity Stamp Challenge

Welcome to the new Clarity Stamp blog challenge.

Our first challenge goes live on the 1st March so don't forget to mark it on your calendars.  Please feel free to have a look around and of course get aquainted with those dreaded rules.

For those of you that don't have blogs please don't despair you will also be able to enter via email so we've got it all covered.

********

We'd like to introduce you to the Clarity Stamp Challenge design team who will be creating inspirational projects for you each month to help you along the way and who will also be commenting on your work.  Why not visit their personal blogs and have a look at their work?

Ladies please introduce yourselves:

Bernie Simmons

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi everyone I'm Bernie, I was born in London and am married with two wonderful sons, of whom I'm immensely proud.  We also have five demanding Ridgeback dogs.

I started paper crafting over ten years ago whilst working at my youngest sons special needs school.  When clearing out a cupboard one day a load of card and stamps fell out...... I was hooked!  One of the first stamps I bought was a Clarity stamp, Topaz, and is still a firm favourite even now.  I love altered art and am always looking at things daily and wondering what I can make out of them.

I am in the process of setting up Clarity Stamp South West where there is little in the way of stamping or tutoring clubs, so with the attitude of "if you want something doing , do it yourself" I approached Barbara Gray with my idea.  The first meeting is in Plymouth on the 7th February, why not come along and join in the fun?

Hellen Pearce

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi my name's Hellen and I live near Rochester in Kent.  I've been crafting in one form or another all of my life having been brought up by a Mum who made most things herself.  Happily that has been passed on now to my daughters and through them to my grandchildren.  Crafting is fun to do and I've found that a handmade item can bring real pleasure to others as they feel it's been made just for them.

I started card making a few years ago and enjoy mixing different elements of style, design and technique.  My target this year is to work with as many colour mediums as I can.  I love stamping combined with Pan Pastels or distress inks and colouring with water colours, marker pens and polychromo pencils.

So "watch this space", as they say, as I practise my different skills needed for each medium and I hope that you'll give them a go too - it's a wonderful stress buster!

********

Jane Telford

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi I'm Jane and I'm a full time teacher in a large secondary school but my real passion is craft.

I've been crafting since I can remember, but then 7 years ago I got into paper crafting and card making and stamping is now my favourite way to get creative.  You'll often find me sketching and  doodling ideas for a card!  Crafting for me is my way of getting rid of the stresses of work and I know that I feel better for doing it.  My crafting buddy is my 5 year old Border Terrier Charlie who sits by my feet whilst I craft.

********

Karen Clare

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi I'm Karen, also known as "CraftyK" and "The Clock Lady".

I'm fortunate enough to be a full time crafter and consider it a privilege to be doing something I love all of the time!  Being part of this design team is a huge honour and one that I'm very proud of.  Since building up my crafting profile I've established a lovely network of crafty buddies and together we share very special and unique friendships.  I'm looking forward to seeing this exciting new project evolve.

"Life is a blank canvas, create your own masterpiece......."

********

Linda Page

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi I'm Linda (a proper Lancashire lass) and I've been a crafter of sorts for all of my life, but came across paper crafting several years ago.  Since retiring I've started to make cards for other people and also sell my cards at local craft fairs and and events.

I love going to workshops and visiting craft fairs and take great pleasure in meeting some lovely like minded folk.  I guess my main passions are stamps and inks but I will have a play with most things as my wish list grows ever bigger!  I'm so excited to be part of this design team and I hope you enjoy my creations.

********

Lynne Hammond

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

I'm an Army wife and also have an over excitable chocolate Labrador called Maya.

I love all sorts of crafts but rubber stamping, especially with Clarity Stamps, is my favourite.  I think my style is quite simple and uncluttered, unlike my craft room which is often a complete mess!  I love experimenting with new ideas and techniques and can always rely on my husband for honest feedback.

********

Naomi Mahon

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi I'm Naomi, I'm fifty years young and I live in Dublin, Ireland with my husband and teenage son.

I've always loved makings things thank to my Grandmother, Mother and Aunts who all cook, bake, sew, knit etc.  I discovered stamping and card making a few years ago and have loved learning and creating every minute since.

********

Rae Dalal

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

Hi I'm Rae.  I've always been arty and have been making cards now for more than 20 years, all thanks to my Mum!  My first loves are stamping, painting, paper engineering, altered art and card making.  I'm a freelance designer and teacher who happily goes with the flow and doesn't have a particular style  but I do like a good bit of chaos 'n' mess!!

My influences are widespread having travelled extensively and spent time living in South America.  I love to learn and let things happen randomly..... no matter what chaos may ensue.  That's how some of my best ideas have been born (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

I'm also "Mum" to the inscrutable crafty cat Felix and we live in the lovely Cheshire countryside.

********

Sally-Ann Hanes

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

My crafting life began at an early age and with good teachers too, my Mum and my Nan.  Starting with knitting and sewing I then progressed onto cross stitch.  I caught the card making bug about 8 years ago when my auntie sent me a card she'd made and since then I've spent a total fortune on all of those essential items that us crafters must have and I can't be trusted near craft shops at all!  I love trying out new techniques and find inspiration from all sorts of places including my crafting buddies.

I hope I can give you all some inspiration and ideas from my crafting projects.

********

Yvonne Froehlich

(please click on my photo to visit my personal blog)

I semi retired in April 2012 with the sole intention of spending more time crafting.

I've been crafting since I was a young girl, starting with needlework and knitting.  I then progressed, as I think a lot of us did, to cross stitch and tapestry which eventually led onto paperwork and the rest, as they say, is history!  I've been lucky to attend workshops with well known talented crafters who have been very generous in passing on their tips and knowledge.

There is always something new to explore in crafting so........ onwards and upwards!

  24. Mr Linky really does not like me this week. I posted a comment early this morning and it told me I was first and the comment went through. Since then he has lost it completely so I will repeat it here. What I said was to congratulate you all for this great blog, and to say what a talented groups of people Barbara has on this design team. I know it will be a huge success. xx Maggie
